  From 26 to 28 August, women from Asia, Africa, Latin America and Arab region came together for an international strategy meeting organized by the ESCR-Net Working Group on Women. The meeting was entitled “Advancing Women’s ESCR: Alternative Visions of development, land and property(HLP) rights”.

Advancing Human Rights in Women’s Prisons in Lebanon

The nature of detention undergoes big changes in a number of aspects in various countries of the world. The number of prisoners has increased significantly, while repressive criminal policies continue and even get worse. The result is overcrowded prisons and accompanying deterioration in the health of prisoners, limited opportunities for rehabilitation and the acquisition of skills, and the denial of basic human rights.

Jordanian Women: Reality and Challenges

Jordanian women began their struggle and organized work in order to gain their rights and achieve participation and equality, believing that the cause of women is an issue of society and that national issues in various fields are also their own, until many achievements are realized in their own progressive process, thanks to the combination of several factors.
